Some oservations missing from Observations>Map mode

Platform: Lenovo laptop X1 running Windows 11

App version number, if a mobile app issue: n/a

Screenshots of what you are seeing:

Here’s with the rectangle around just one small region to the left - notice no markers to the right:

Now here’s with the rectangle encompassing multiple observations that aren’t shown with markers:

Note that the observations show up in the list on the right, but the markers on the map aren’t displayed

Description of problem:

Step 1: Should be clear from the above, but to reiterate - I’ve got a bunch of observations at a place in northern Norway that aren’t showing up with markers when I use the Observations>Map mode. But drawing a rectangle/circle around them does populate the list on the right.

Step 2:

Step 3:

no bug here, this is intended behaviour

the reason those records don’t appear on the map is because the accuracy value for them is very high, and thus they are defined as ‘unmappable’ in the context of iNaturalist.

for example, the Lupinus observation: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/229105595

it currently has an accuracy value of 40.23 km, so that pin will not appear on the map

the cut-off for mappable/unmappable is the diagonal of a 0.2 x 0.2 degree box at that location
