Suggestions from wrong Category/Kingdom

There are two genera with the Name “Rhaphidophora“, one belongs to plants from the family Araceae and the other are insects. The problem is, that the suggestions always show both of them, when you want to ID the plants Rhaphidophora.

Would it be possible to only show suggestions that belong to the same Kingdome?

But how is it to know which kingdom you want? I think a more helpful option would be to have something on each line of the suggestions list indicating which kingdom it belongs to, or something similar - which I think has been proposed but not (yet?) implemented.

I mean the suggestions for more detailed IDs, not the suggestions you get when you add the observation.

do you mean, when you are IDing kingdom plants observations and search texts of Rhaphidophora (or CV vision suggestions?) - you want the genus of plant to pop instead of insects because of the prior evidence ID of kingdom plants?

Yes exactly.

cool! you can raise a feature request at Feature Requests

this can be implemented (atleast sorting via same category suggestions score) and is useful scenario.

Just as long as both still show up somewhere - because sometimes someone has picked the wrong one and it needs fixing! :-)

yep yep. we just want context aware suggestions sorting and not filtering.

especially because as you have said, there are minor cases of reverse happening: where the initial ID was mistakenly picked from another kingdom because of similar names

I always wondered why a moss (Bartramia) has a bird as the taxon photo
