Maybe a dumb question but … if I upload a photo from Flickr to iNaturalist and then delete the photo on Flickr, does that have any impact on the iNat record? I’m assuming the transfer from Flickr to iNat is a copy and not a link. Thanks.

iNat makes local copies of Flickr photos, deleting them on Flickr should have no effect.

Just note that when iNat ports the photos over, it also resizes and compresses large photos, and strips all photos of their metadata.

Good to know, thanks. I notice that any description and tags I’ve added to the Flickr photo get carried over and added to the iNat record, which is a nice feature.
