Description of need:
I zoom in to the fullest possible strength because I like to take pictures of insects that are smaller than a pin head. When I am that zoomed in, I am using my left hand to either hold the leaf where the insect is perched or I am using my hand to place behind the spider web to allow the camera to focus. Since my left hand is busy, it is not able to hold the phone with it and allow my right hand to remain free to click anywhere at a moment’s. Therefore, with much dexterity, I hold the phone with my right hand and I use my right pointer finger and middle finger to zoom in and out. At this time, the screen is a blurry mess, so I am constantly clicking on the small mite or spider in the middle of the screen to force the camera to focus. When it finally focuses, it is the most satisfying feeling - as I finally get the species level ID! To my dismay, the minute movement of moving my thumb from the main screen to the bottom where the camera button is causes the screen to lose focus. The bug moves away, and I have to start over. Right now, you can set the app to take a photo automatically when I finally gets a species level ID. I’ve tried that in the past, thinking it would solve my problem, but it made it worse. It mistakenly gets a false ID of something random, and forces the screen to advance. So, that doesn’t work, and I don’t see how that could ever work, as the machine is trying as hard as it can to come up with an ID
