I was taking a scroll on TikTok last night and had an absolutely legendary for-you-page pull: a woman claiming to be searching for a lost species. This sent me down an absolutely insane rabbit hole that I’m surprised hasn’t been posted about here before that I’ve seen.
The Cozumel Dwarf Fox was missing for decades and even before that it was so rare that it remains undescribed today. It was presumed extinct for 20 years… before its Rediscovery. A group called Pathos is now conducting research on the island in an attempt to find even more.
Considering I didn’t even know these foxes existed before this, I thought it was worth sharing here too! :)
