If its unknowns then basically any ID is an improvement, but I try keep it as general as I feel comfortable, unless I have a good idea of the correct answer, then I add it and tag a specialist if I have any doubt (from my experience I’ve noticed that species level IDs are corrected quicker than more general IDs (as in they are dropped back to genus quite quickly; compared to genus level IDs which in my opinion get less consideration when people come across it because its easy to just agree with lower IDs) which is why its best to tag an expert imo (btw don’t go flood the platform with incorrect species level IDs, only add them if you are quite sure and always ask advice when not 100% sure of it)… technically you should go about this just like any other observation you are IDing, just because its unknown doesn’t change the way you go about IDing it (which is to ID it as high as you feel comfortable with)
