Today I noticed that I am listed as having the most species observed in this project, with a count of 65. However, when I go to the observation page for that project and filter for just my own, my species count there is listed as 100+. I considered making this thread in Bug Reports but I felt I should mention it here first in case this is due to some user error on my end. Which one should I consider more accurate? What’s happening here?
The smaller number is just observations at rank=species or finer while the larger number is the “leaf” taxa count, i.e. it counts taxa from observations IDed at genus or coarser ranks too. More info: https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/how_inaturalist_counts_taxa
