Recently, I have noticed that a user has been continuously inventing new Chinese names based on transliterations or translations of English common names or species epithets, or on species distributions. Some of these names appear to be inaccurate or entirely incorrect. I have tried sending messages and leaving comments to ask the user to stop doing this, but they do not seem to be working. I would appreciate any guidance on how this situation should be handled.

Flag one of the taxon affected. Allow curators to take a look then perhaps staff.

It sounds like they’ve been adding quite a few of these, so it would probably be best to contact staff (email help@inaturalist.org) - if they decide to take action, they may be able to remove them in bulk, whereas curators would have to do them one at a time.
