Victorian grassland earless dragon rediscovered

Tympanocryptis pinguicola, common name Victorian grassland earless dragon, was rediscovered in Victoria, according to a publication by Smithsonian on Wednesday. It had not been seen since 1969, which is exciting for all naturalists alike!

Amazing! Reptile species sometimes seem to go missing but then there is a new sighting. I think a skink species did that. I wonder if this is what happened with T. pinguicola?
