There are lots of resources which provide good written descriptions of plants – sometimes with illustrations or photos. For example, here’s a very detailed description of Commelina erecta: Commelina erecta - FNA (floranorthamerica.org)
But I can recall coming across only one collection of really good videos that I might use for identification. These were made by the Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants at University of Florida. Here are a couple of examples of the videos they provide:
- Coral ardisia (Ardisia crenata) (written description)
- Alligator weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides) (written description)
Does anyone know any other plant identification video resources?
Also, does anyone know of any dichotomous keys that offer video guidance for each of the decision points in a key?
