Absolutely agreed on deep sea fish! They’re just fascinating, although I wouldn’t describe most as beautiful :P Some of my favourites are Ipnops, Zeidae, Chaunacidae, Beryx, Chauliodus, greeneyes, snailfishes, lanternfishes, Psychrolutidae, armoured gurnards and deep-dwelling anthias. I’d love to learn more about pelagic anglerfishes, but it’s so hard to find good info about them!
Mine is actually a tree that is present here, Metopium brownei, which is locally called chechen. I especially do not care for it because I had a very strong case of poison ivy while in the USA and was extremely ill for a long time. (I do not eat mangoes or certain nuts either because per the immunologist they could induce the strong reaction again.)
note: We do not have poison ivy here. Just the tree. And it is not common but still.
Oh, look, it’s been a while since someone gave this answer:
humans.
Can’t live with 'em, can’t live… well, that’s a bit of a quandary, isn’t it? Can we make “human” a matter of chosen identity like gender? No? Well, crap.
European Starlings that devour my suet feeders.
I always find myself charmed by the oddly human-like faces of a lot of orthopterans. I even find Jerusalem crickets really cute! But the dragon-headed katydid takes it… just a touch too far.
