What are some good birding spots around Washington?

Hi,
I’m going to be driving out to Washington State from MN this summer. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions of places to go birding on the way out there or specifically around Tacoma, WA.
Thanks, Keith

I’m not familiar with the Tacoma area but you can probably pull up a Google map of that city and see what nature preserves they have in or near the town. I see there’s a Tacoma Nature Center at Snake Lake … that sounds promising!

What radius do you consider “near”? The Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is closer to Olympia, but it does border the county where Tacoma is located.

I would consider near to be no more than an hour or two drive from there.

Nisqually should count, then.
