What are your favorite projects?

https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/2025-bird-big-year-bioblitz, this year’s star for me :)

https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/bitter-about-litter - Organism near the litters, pick up the litters when you can
https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/egg-behavior - If you love eggs, join this (mine!)

The Land Invertebrate Ark is a student-led project that needs more observers and identifiers. It has only existed for a few short months and has already collected over 400k observations, so it’s quite successful already. Give it a join and include your boneless critters, I’m sure they would appreciate it!

This is a collection project, so it’s basically just a set of search parameters that includes observations already on iNaturalist based on the project’s requirements. I don’t think it’s really possible to say that this project spurred a lot of people to add more invert observations to iNat.

Some of my favorites:
Hollow Tree Homes
Never Home Alone: The Wild Life of Homes
Organisms On or Near Appropriate Signs

It’s set to project members only. So it’s not just collecting obs from people whether or not they participating in the project. You have to be involved in the project to get your obs in it.

Correct, but what I’m saying is that I don’t think that in a few months it’s responsible for hundreds of thousands of new observations to iNat, which is how I interpreted the post above about it (which may be a misinterpretation on my part). 389k observations that are currently in the project were already on iNat when the project was created.

I somehow missed that part. They should probably have a start date.

I recently created this project after a mountain trip: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/romanian-bears

I’m realy curious how many people will join it, as the bear situation is quite serious in Romania. Not much success though, but it’s only day 2!

Note: I know that guys on iNat are kind and respectful guys, but I have to remind it: if you visit Romania and Transfăgărășan road (or anywhere else), keep in mind: don’t feed the bears, even if you’re tempted to! It’s bad for them, and it might get bad for you as well!

https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/wild-homes-and-backyards, another project of mine I really like, in which people can add observations made in their place!

Other people have already mentioned this, but here’s a big project for organisms people find in their homes: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/never-home-alone-the-wild-life-of-homes

Okay… I initially used it for recording my obs, but then a guy came up asking to add his there… and that’s how I came here!

Another project with lovely photos to look at.

I thought for sure there was an umbrella project for these, but I seem to be unable to find it.
