What about no red at all, like this male Barred Antshrike or Banded Alder Borer beetles?

I’ve “red” about those black and white species.

I think it’s interesting that so many species of woodpeckers are just variations on the black-white-red theme.

Actually, the banded alder borer might be grey or green on the inside.

This is another butterfly that I see frequently in my neighborhood in the south end of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. This is a Red Postman or
Mariposa de Bandas Carmesí Occidental Heliconius erato ssp. cruentus.
