When duplicating an observation, sometimes the observation fields get copied over and other times do not?

I have since deleted the observation field but I duplicated an observation of a Large Orange Sulphur as someone had added the observation field “visiting flower of” to the ob and it was a plant I hadn’t observed before. I was later notified that the observation field had been copied over. About a month or so ago I did the same this with an Ocala Skipper observation but that one never had the field copied over.

I don’t know which one is supposed to be right but it would make it a lot easier if observation fields were not copied over when a observation is duplicated.

I’ve noticed a few other people have been duplicating the observations and the same thing has been happening. I agree that the best solution would be to not copy over any observation fields since many times they are specific to the organism and won’t apply if the observation is duplicated for another organism.

I like that duplicating copies over the fields, and wish it would do the same with projects and tags.

I’d be OK with tags being copied over, but duplicating obs fields and projects would, on balance, more often create incorrect data.

Made an issue here: https://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/issues/2754

Very Very sad. It was excellent.
IT was so usefull
If i can not copy the observationfields i will ot use them anymore.

Another issue cames up, it seems the word processor is putting numbers in the text
Does anybody know how i can disable (ordered) list.

It weird, it working excellent for 12 years and now suddely it has to be changed

IF you do not wnt the oservations fields copy FIRST the observation and then add the fields

If you DO want the observation fields ad the observations fields FIRST and then copy the observations.

And the word processor is making something different of it with its OWN numbers and ranking (i think 1,2,3,4,5)

Please file a separate bug report, this new issue is not related to the current one.

Are sure it is NOT related ? But i still think it working good last 10 years. https://www.inaturalist.org/blog/38475-less-agreeable-observations-more-agreeable-text-formatting

Oh dear? my html code is gone, and the bullets that showed in the preview (one for each type of gamer) are not there.

What has happened to my text formatting?
