Pantala flavescens, the Globe Skimmer or Wandering Glider dragonfly relies on the monsoons to make make one of the longest and larges insect migrations on the world. The migrate between India and Africa, using the monsoon winds to boost their flights. An enormous number of other species, birds in particular accompany them, preying on the dragonflies and each other along the migratory path.

In some areas, a wide range of animals make smaller scale migrations in order to be at the correct place in time to take advantage of the monsoons and the resources they unlock. An example of an area where this happens is in Oman, facing the Indian Ocean. There is a spot where the otherwise arid landscape turns into a rich green monsoon forest with waterfalls and pools for a short time each year. Many animals rely on this to and make their way there with their arrival timed to coincide with the monsoon.

Fireflies and crickets also come during monsoon season . During this time butterfly also start their bidirectional movement from north to south , and first summer rain plays a crucial part in deciding the start of migration. By the way the butterflies always vanishes before rain and some butterfly host plants also grow during this time which makes the availability host plant and cause them to migrate. You can also see ants disappear just before monsoon rain , I also have seen bird not coming out of nests in early morning because of rain. Frogs eventually come out which brings snake . Leeches , snails earthworm comes outside in rain.
