This is purely a question of personal curiosity, but I was wondering if the Google-supported AI behind Wildlife Insights is at all related to the AI development support that iNaturalist has received from Google via the Geo for Good initiative or other Google support.
Wildlife Insights is a platform officially launching today, that intends to help researchers and organizations with bulk camera trap data to archive and manage that data, as well as “run AI models over their data for species identification.” More info here https://www.wildlifeinsights.org/
