Nice to hear. Hwy 17 has always been a bit of a mess both for humans and wildlife.
Kudos to the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County. They’ve been working to acquire the lands to make this possible for years.
Great news! I’ve seen deer crossing HWY 17 before (one was running down the road, luckily drivers were warning each other). A group in southwest Oregon (where I’m currently based) is looking at the feasibility of constructing wildlife crossings on I-5.
This is fantastic news, always happy to see it when these underpasses get put in!
