I stared at this picture for about two minutes and I still can’t see it.
are we looking for a chick between the pebbles ?
PS found the bright beak
Northeast of the photo’s center point.
If I understood @swampster’s explanation of terminology, it is neither a chick, a juvenile, nor any other type of immature bird but rather an adult Ringed Plover.
(Unless I am wildly misunderstanding iNaturalist’s About page for that taxon, which is always a distinct possibility.)
Yep! It is an adult. Maybe I should have clarified.
Just puts to show how good their camo really is, even if out of context, it looks easy to pick out. ;)
I give up. Where is it?
We need to find a way to hide the solution behind a link. Help @tiwane or @carrieseltzer ?
Like this?
THE PLOVER IS HERE
Just kidding!
Hahaha, yes! (also you totally got me!)
About 10 cm down from the top and 15 cm from the right side.
Thank you. I could not find it. Your directions and DianaStuder’s comment bout the bright beak finally helped me find it!
It is quite a challenge to find which is why I want to put a pictorial, circled version behind a link like @oksanaetal’s because once you see it, it seems quite apparent but goodness, the distance/perspective makes this one a doozy. I feel badly for people not able to find it but I also don’t want to post a circled version openly? (But maybe we ought to.)
Which one?
Arrggh! I still can’t see it.
Reminds me of those “magic eye” pictures that were supposed to make sense if you looked at them in just the right way. I never could figure those out, either…
Those Magic Eye ones take a little practice. If you try to find something by staring at the actual plane of the image, you’ll probably end up seeing what I did: an INVERTED 3D image. The secret is to really relax your gaze and focus on a point about twice as far away.
Boy, you have a much bigger smartphone than I do!
I’m looking at a computer screen. I wouldn’t touch a smartphone with a barge pole.
