Speaking of flattened fauna, the phrase “roadkill” (and its alternate spelling “road kill”) appear 9 times in this thread, but the one below is a first:
You know you’re seriously into iNat when you mentally ID every roadkill that you pass, but then you pass an unidentifiable flat blob, and it bothers you.
Your brain starts inventing possible IDs from other continents, because it kind of looks like that thing. Escaped exotic pet? What could it be?
You HAVE to return to inspect the flat blob and confirm your ID!
