I haven’t even posted on it yet and have just been watching and I love this topic. Let’s me learn about so many new species.

It was quite hard to choose one, as I’ve seen a lot of cool organisms this week. But for some reason this picture of Dianthus deltoides makes me really happy. I even decided to make it my iNat profile picture (though I don’t know if it stays because after 3 years of using the other one, it is really throwing me off)

Too much direct sunlight but you take what you can get: serpentine milkweed! A lifer species for me that day.

Wow! How’d you get the black background?
If there is nothing behind the subject and there is little enough light, you get a completely black background. You do need a flash to get enough light on the subject, however. :)
