52 years of daily winter weather reports

Of note in this article is where billy barr (yes, he doesn’t use capitals in his name) talks about the changes in the winter bird population. Some of is is probably due to changes in range and migratory behavior, but some of the changes that he notes tie directly into Cornell’s Three Billion Birds study.

It’s an interesting read, if not exactly a comfortable one.

A lovely portrait of billy barr. A gentle, happy person living a quiet life in his cabin. In a way, he’s similar to some iNatters who obsessively track natural history in their corner of the world. Decades of quiet consistency. Their records might hold great value for future generations!
