Taxon changes, especially splits, are increasingly common and the Computer Vision ID suggestions usually don’t reflect these changes.
It would be nice if an ID suggestion came with a note or warning that the suggested ID has recently had a taxon split.
This came up because of the recent split in Siberian Stonechats, breaking them into Siberian Stonechats and Amur Stonechats.
Many observations got bumped back to genus level, and in my area the past observations are likely now Amur Stonechats, but the Computer Vision ID suggestions are only for the Siberian Stonechat with no warning that there has been a taxon split and that in this geographic area it’s a different species now.
This applies to pretty much all taxon splits and it would be nice if the Computer Vision ID suggestions let you know that there has been a split in suggested species.
