AntLab: insect launch sequences

I found this video delightful. It’s 8 minute of slow-motion footage of insect flight, focusing on rarely-filmed species. The narration is pretty informative and has closed-captioning. Enjoy!

I really liked that video a lot. It was good to see flight of some of the more unusual insects.

Great video, absolutely fantastic!

Reminds me of the videos made by this japanese photographer, Fumihiko Hirari. He has a youtube channel, but if you have instagram you can check out his videos on IGTV, there are some great slow-motion footage.

As a sidenote related to this topic of insect flight, one of the professors in my university has done research regarding the aerodynamics of the flight of Sphingidae during feeding in different windy conditions.
