Step 1:
Identify a bunch observations in the app, over timespan of eg 3-5 hours.

After this long period the application starts to get slower an slower sometimes up to a standstill (that is what I reached at this moment)
Step 3:
Terminating and restarting the app fixes the problem
Thanks @misumeta for reporting this .. that’s not a great experience, and we will investigate!

Just a guess based on my own experience. If you have a large amount of observations in your list (like thousands), the app sometimes gobbles up system cache. If your phone is nearing memory space limits, this slows things right down. Clearing the app’s cache usually fixes things.
How would I clear the cache?
You’re on an iPhone right? Here’s the AI assistant version:
To clear an app’s cache on an iPhone, you can use the “Offload” feature. This method retains the app’s data while freeing up storage space. Here are the steps:
- Open the Settings app and tap on General.
- Tap on iPhone Storage.
- Scroll through the list of apps and find the one you want to clear the cache for.
- Swipe left on the app and tap Offload App.
- Confirm the action when prompted.

Did it. While I don’t see a difference in the numbers in the general settings the app responds much faster now similar to how it worked in the beginning.
Thanks a lot.
Up to now I didn’t try everything, but I will share my experience as soon as I did more.
Today it got worse. The app ended with a complete standstill. After restarting I got screen like this
After two or three tries I finally deleted the app and reinstalled it. That helped a lot. While I didn’t upload photos yet it’s in general much faster and more like it was at the very beginning and faster than it was after only clearing the cache.
