Apples and plums

Very common mistake. So maybe this can mean something to someone. Apples either have calyx/style/stamen remnants at the back end of the fruits or if not, they have a depression there with colour different than the colour of the rest of the fruit. Prunes have neither (I’m on slippery ice, because I don’t know the North American species, but I can’t imagine this to be different in North America).
If in doubt, cut a fruit open…
