Title basically. Went to ID an organism and noticed my cursor changed to a “
” when I hovered over the DQA check boxes. Sure enough, I can’t use it. Is anyone else experiencing this? I should note I am not a curator, and I also had a flag against me a while back concerning the DQA; however, my action was found to be acceptable in the end.
if there is no community taxon, you can’t check the “can community taxon be improved” boxes.
You also cannot click it in cases where the community taxon does not match the observation taxon.
E.g. this observation
has two identifications, one at genus, and one at species:
so the CID is Paragus and the observation ID is P. hamorrhous. If an IDer thought this was Paragus, and that that ID could not be improved they’d have to disagree with the species ID (thus making the OID and CID both Paragus), then they could check the box (making it RG at Paragus). If the IDer thought it was P. haemorrhous and that this ID could not be improved they’d have to agree with Catherine’s ID, then check the box.
I’m not sure if I’ve got this quite right, but from the behaviour I’ve noticed recently I think you now also can’t click it if your own ID isn’t the same as the community taxon, or if the leading ID is finer than the community taxon. Something like that.
Thank you, I think this explains it.
