Australian Orchid complexes addition possibility?

I’m not certain what’s involved in adding species complexes (trying to check if this has been brought up has mostly given me the impression adding complexes is complicated and to be avoided, unless necessary?), but would it be possible to add species complexes for the Australian orchids? I’m definitely not an orchid expert, and what I’ve read in orchid books trying to ID certain orchids has mostly left me terrified to ID to species level in a number of cases, but I am often capable of IDing to species complex. Specific instances I’ve encountered on iNat would be the Thelymitra macrophylla complex and Pterostylis nana complex, but I could also do that for a few other Pterostylis complexes or look them up and be more or less correct. It’s the specific species that I would be very likely to get wrong, or correct only by luck.

I don’t know the Australian Orchid literature - I was reading books my university keeps - but given the consistency of the complexes between each of the orchid books I imagine it’s explored decently thoroughly there.

(I’m not sure if this is the right spot, but the Feature Requests area said to put it here if I’m not sure if that is the right spot, so…)

welcome to the forum

if you’d like a complex added, please flag the relevant taxon directly in iNat (either the genus or the species for which the complex would be named), provide your reasoning, and tag some of the top iders/observers of that group for input

Okay, alright. Thank you! I got a bit concerned as to whether or not flagging a taxon would be… saying something I didn’t want to? I wasn’t entirely sure what would happen if I clicked it. But if that’s reasonable then that’s the method and I’ll do that. Appreciated!
