there are a lot of newer or young users who enjoy chatting about birds, asking questions, making polls, sharing their trips etc. we don’t want to quash their enthusiasm but the number of comments can be overwhelming.
the other option (which has been tried) is to have 20+ separate threads, which are still difficult to search for – but also makes finding non-bird topics hard for other users, and makes moderation more difficult for mods.
