Birding/Birdwatching Discussion Topic

Yeah pretty much what @caterpillar511 said. Here’s my definition: “Birdwatcher” is a random person who likes to look at birds from the back porch. Only likes to take a random picture of a Northern Cardinal here and there. Sips coffee while standing outside on a 60°F morning watching a Eastern Bluebird take a bath in the mud puddle. The “Birdwatcher” never actually goes and looks for many different bird species such as rare birds. Overall the “Birdwatcher” doesn’t really dive deep into the world of birds.

The Birder: The “Birder” is the one who takes birds seriously. The “Birder” actively goes out seeking to find new bird species such as rare birds. The “Birder” is always wanting to learn as much as possible about the birds such as bird behaviors or calls and songs that they make.

Hopefully what me and @caterpillar511 said helps .
