I saw a couple of bald eagles on the roadside eating a snowshoe hare carcass yesterday. Unfortunately, the photos I got were unintelligible.
Thatās cool!
I just got back from a 20 minute walk to check for ducks, and I saw three species- Mallard, Green-winged Teal (American) and Gadwall.
Went duck-watching - Mallard, hooded merganser, and mystery duck (widgeon? Gadwall?) were present - I will post them here when I get around to uploading. Challenge completed!
Did some birding today though by the end of it I was scanning the ground for arthropods in the snow rather than looking for birds.
I think thereās an animal killed nearby because Iāve seen an unusual amount of ravens, and magpies, though I only got pictures of the ravens.
Let me know when you upload your observation of the mystery duck. Ducks are my speciality in identification, so hopefully I can help.
Very cool! Thanks for participating!
Thatās awesome! Thanks to you too for participating.
Very interesting!
Awesome, thank you! Now I have some more motivation to just go and upload my pictures.
Itās always good to have a motavater. Lol!
Alright @caterpillar511 , I uploaded them!
Yāall Iām worried I wonāt be able to complete the bird of the week challenge. Because there have not be any duck species in my ponds lately.
I donāt think Iāll see any ducks either. Unless I go down to the ocean on friday after therapy for my hand.
Have not seen any ducks lately but I did see multiple red tailed hawks on different days all chasing off black vultures.
Here is one of the Hawks.
Hope your therapy for you hand goes well .
Great pic!
Thanks!
Youāre so welcome!
Thanks!
