wplace.live recently launched, a collaborative art project where each user can place one pixel on the world map every 30 seconds, to cover the entire map in pixel art over time.
I couldn’t help but notice many of my favorite iNatting spots lack art. I would love to see a lot of the cool, currently empty places filled in with art of the local organisms. Unfortunately I have zero art skills, but I want to get this on other peoples’ radars who can do art. If you do put some nature-related art in Wplace please post it here, I’d love to see it!
I would love to do some art of local flora/fauna!! There really is a big population of folks in the pixel art community who love doing plants and animals, and I have seen a few on the website, but there should always be more! There is an alliance function, where you can form groups with folks, sometimes over certain topics that can get the ball rolling, which sounds like a good way to go about it. Also note that all kinds of people are joining with a wide range of art skills, so it never hurts to try your best even if you don’t know what you are doing. As an artist, I promise you that is most of what we do haha
It’s being tricky for me too…it’s just loading the paint option but, won’t keep the thirty second thing going, and is just stuck…any idea how to fix this I have unsaved changes and don’t want to lose them by reloading the page
Also so sad, but the dragonfly I made just yesterday was already covered by a void
Why is everybody using Wplace though, like I keep hearing about it, why are so many people using it and it’s so overrated even though Ourworldofpixels existed first and it’s way better like you literally need to sign up to use Wplace and there are profile pictures but to change a profile picture you need some “droplets” that cost real money which is insane
Also it’s not as easy to place pixels on Wplace I literally just went on there for a few seconds and placed a few pixels and it’s annoying to do so
