Most caterpillars are relatively straightforward to raise in captivity: as the feed leaves start to wilt, replace them. But leaf miners – whether lepidopteran or dipteran – would seem to present more of a challenge. Would’nt they just die when their leaves wilt instead of moving into fresh leaves? Are there ways of raising leaf miners in captivity to observe the adults emerge?
