Bone (within Vertebrata only): Predominantly endoskeletal remains. Partial bone exposure in an otherwise intact organism should be labeled “organism”.

I’m not clear on whether it is bird (which is what I thought) or a mammal (which is what iNat is suggesting)

Both are within Vertebrata (vertebrates), so IDing to that level will allow you to add “bone” for “evidence of presence”.
