Of course, Arthrobotrys oligospora (and kin), do the lassoo the nematode thing with just 3 cells…

That’s cool, thanks for the heads-up on this! Another interesting tidbit to add to botany lectures. I also had to immediately think of those nematode-catching fungi. The underground can be a dangerous place.

I’m not familiar with those fungi. My immediate thought was the bladderworts that have traps underground.
