Cicada/plant interaction question

Cicadas are often found sitting on the branch of a tree or on various plants. It would be useful to annotate these plants as an interaction under Observation fields. It is not clear to me what sort of interaction this should be set as. Sometimes it’s a male calling. Sometimes its just a specimen sitting there.

That could provide useful information…I certainly noticed that Magicicada oviposition during the Brood IX emergence this year seemed heavier on callery pears than nearby native species including oaks and maples. Which is odd, and intriguing.

I notice [in NE NSW Australia rainforest] certain species congregate low down on trunks in rainforest near streamlines in hot weather. Probably exploiting higher humidity and shade. Sacrificing a bit of security for the relief.
