Common name with "unknown" goes to state of matter: life

This strange thing just got pointed out by @latraviata (see link below). There is a moth called the “unknown wainscot” and for some reason, it shows up as at the level “life” not in its proper place.

there’s no bug here.

the moth isn’t showing up as Unknown. your query is getting all life (taxon_id=48460) and things that have “unknown” in their names (q=unknown). this will get both things at Life and things that have Unknown in their names.

if you want to unknowns only, there are various ways to get this, depending on your definition of “unknown”:
