Do you supplement your Garden Journal with iNaturalist

Many people who spend their time outdoors are avid gardeners, and many of those gardeners keep a written journal of their garden. Maybe we could hear some feedback from individuals that supplement their written journals by using iNaturalist and how they find it is helpful.

In my case, our family garden journal is photographic, sketches, plant tags, and written and is somewhat spotty with entries. My interest in pollinator species has increased our documentation of what is present, what is introduced, what is cultivated, what comes and goes through our property on its way elsewhere, and the seasonality of it all.

Please share your experience.

hello ! i created a project for our micro-farm. It helps us document all the spontaneous biodiversity that appears around our cultivated areas: insects, wild plants, birds, fungi… Observing and tracking these species through the seasons really deepens our understanding of the garden and the living ecosystem that it’s part of ! https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/observatoire-de-la-biodiversite-du-jardin-de-sigma
