Antwiki is one of the oldest and best resources for learning about and ID’ing ants online. It’s called a “wiki” but for a long time they have not added new members, there is no way to join, no way to contact anyone at the site.
Having run a website once I can imagine it might just be because it can be thankless work to manage such things. But I worry about them running out of server fees. (there is also no way to donate) and sometimes I find errors I wish I could share with them.
If the people running the site are just overwhelmed and don’t want to be bothered that’s fine, but I do think there are people out there that might be able to help and reduce any burden.
The news section still gets updates. Some of the accounts that post things still seem to be active. But there seems to be no way to reach out.
As a long shot I thought I’d ask here. If anyone knows someone who runs the site or what happened and how someone who really appreciates their work might help.
