Hi. New iNaturalist user here.
I am interested in observing species in the wild and also captive species. More specifically, I want to observe trees in the wild and also urban street trees.
For my Life List I ONLY want to count observations made of species in the wild.
Is that how the Dynamic Life List works or does it also include observations of captive species. If not, how can I accomplish this in iNaturalist?
Thank you for your patience for a new user. Cheers!

Hey, welcome to iNat! :)
Seems like the taxa of observations of captive organisms are included. My life list includes poison frogs, yet the only one I have observed has been marked not wild.
However, the “Your Observations” page has a species view. If you filter out all organisms in captivity in the filter box, you should get what you are looking for, albeit less convenient. Here’s the link: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?captive=false&user_id=eyekosaeder&verifiable=any&view=species
(replace my username with yours)
Edit: If you just go to species-view without setting any filters, that should also work mostly, as the verifiable-filter is checked by default, excluding all “casual grade” observations. However, this may exclude some observations of wild organisms that are casual for another reason than being marked captive (e.g. missing date)
