How about introducing an option which can be useful for identifying duplicates uploads? same photos uploaded by user with the help of this option curators can mark that foto is uploaded multiple time for the same taxon and latest upload can be marked as duplicate and it won’t be counted in his list

I’d mark them both as date incorrect until one will be deleted, they’re uploaded for completely different dates and years.
UPD. Exit is present on only one version of the pic, so I marked the second date/observation as incorrect.

I only know that the one Wikimedia is using to prevent duplicates is working nice.
