I’m curious as to why elands are considered part of the Tragelaphus genus on iNaturalist when almost everywhere I look, they are in their own genus, Taurotragus. I am aware that elands sometimes hybridize with greater kudu.
iNaturalist follows the ASM Mammal Diversity database for mammal taxonomy. If you think there’s a good reason to deviate from that you can create a flag and propose a change on the taxon page.
I doubt I can come up with a good reason to change that taxon.
