But if you try to change a listed taxon status to endemic for a continent list:

Description of problem:

Step 1: Find a taxon with no establishment means added.

Step 2: Add an endemic status to that taxon on a checklist below continent.

Step 3: It is now marked as endemic to the continent as well.

No one can mark listed taxa as endemic to continents, but the system automatically adds the endemic status to the continent if an endemic status is the first status added to a listed taxon below continent. Note that the status was also added to the state, but not the country. These are all standard places. These can be manually changed back to native, and it doesn’t seem to be technically incorrect, but if users can’t do this I don’t think the system should either.

I was able to change Helminthoglypta salviae mina back to “native” to North America - maybe because I’m an admin? @thomaseverest are you able to edit the establishment means for https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/220930-Haplotrema-minimum now?

Yes, this has always been possible.
