I also haven’t done a split with this many species before, so more eyes are better.
Because the output taxa are all children of the input taxon, that means after committing the split the children would be descendants of an inactive taxon, which seemingly isn’t possible.
You probably need to edit the parent for all the species to be the genus rather than the complex and then split the remaining observations of the complex.
