I like the sound of pied butcher birds https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/75250191 sorry about the noisy miner
I also like eastern whip birds https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/78302006
I often hear the same bird song in many areas and wonder what species it is. Unluckily, I couldnât record it well. But certainly, bird song is beautiful and peaceful.
I have many favorites here in Siberia, but my number one is probably Blythâs reed warbler! I also have a soft spot for the common chaffinch (simple but itâs practically a symbol of spring here where I live) and the Eurasian golden oriole.
I agree I also canât choose just one
I really like the lazuli bunting and the American bittern.
The warbling whistles and clicks of nesting purple martins really stood out to me the first time I heard them.
Itâs not technically a song, but I love the calls of Horned Owls. Also mockingbird songs are so interesting and varied (I just wish they wouldnât âperformâ all night).
- White-throated Sparrow
- Great Horned Owl
And yes, two extremes in pitch.
Also not technically a song, and not so much a favorite as one that really stands out for its distinctiveness: the location note of the Pacific-slope Flycatcher. It sounds just like someone whistling to call a dog.
