I also would like to add to my thread (https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/is-anyone-else-having-dreams-where-they-are-outside-in-nature/19990/2). I would like to contribute and share my opinion about them, but their locked. How can I add my ideas to these locked threads?

Question: are requests to reopen threads ever denied?

rarely. in the vast majority of cases it’s a straightforward request and gets reopened right away.
sometimes a thread which was closed for moderation reasons or which had been very contentious may be kept closed.
I’ll usually speak with the person making the request to ascertain why they wish to revisit that specific thread. sometimes their desires can be better met through a moderation action, or just talking about it in private, or by opening a fresh thread sans earlier drama.
