Description of problem:

Step 1: User’s guide says “The Explore page map only shows observations which are mappable, that is, with public lat/lon and a location accuracy less than the diagonal of a rectangle measuring 0.2 degrees by 0.2 degrees.” However I regularly find observations with accuracy far beyond that threshold. For instance the cited observation has a location accuracy of 40030.13 km, which is larger than the diameter of Earth. The other link shows the search that led me to this observation. It seems that either the user’s guide is inaccurate, or the algoithm to select observations for the explore page is not working correctly.

Step 2:

Step 3:

i don’t see a bug here. an unmappable observation may be found in a particular result set, but the map does not display markers representing the unmappable observations.
