Been struggling pretty much since release of the app with these responsiveness issues (iPhone 13 Mini). The sluggishness seemed to ebb and flow a bit in just how extreme it was, but never seemed to fully resolve and persisted through previous app updates. The issues were most noticeable when in the Me and Activity tabs. Scrolling would generally be smooth, but opening observations or navigating to other tabs from those tabs usually involved at least 5 second delay between a tap and response. Seemed unrelated to strength of signal/wifi. Also occasionally had a total freeze that necessitated a force close.
I just tried deleting and reinstalling app and the issues seem completely resolved. In the process I updated from 1.0.09 to 1.0.10, so unfortunately canāt isolate the improvement to only the reinstall, but what a difference!
In case itās helpful (this was asked on another related post): memory usage before deleting was 193.4 MB App Size / 87.3 MB Documents and Data. After reinstalling those numbers are 189.9 MB / 15.4 MB.
I notice after reinstall that clicking an observation from the Activity tab now takes me to the relevant part of the Community Discussion (ie, directly to the comment/ID that the notification was forāusually the bottom for new comments/IDs). This was not the behavior before reinstalling, when after a delay the observation would always open at the top of the observation (it also would then take some time to load the individual Discussion items, which first appeared as empty rows with just the generic grey silhouette user avatar, before populating with user and species names/photos). Perhaps this just a new 1.0.10 feature, but Iām mentioning here in case itās a clue. I have a few screen recordings of me using the app while buggy before reinstalling that I could share if helpful.
