I have a friend who has had some problems with magpie-larks. They have been scratching, pecking and pooping on their cars constantly.
They have tried nearly everything and nothing has worked.
If anyone has any ideas of how to deter them, let me know.
Have you tried a stern talking-to?
Are they drawn to reflections on the car? Maybe place a mirror somewhere away from the car and see if that distracts them.
Maybe a car cover?
I read that they see their reflection as an intruder. Interesting idea.
They are fighting their reflection because they think it is a territorial rival. Sometimes they do this until it kills them. One solution is to cover the reflective bits on their cars. Apparently putting large pictures of cats or owls on the windows will also discourage them.
