I have joined... 0 projects

Platform: Android

App version number, if a mobile app issue: 1.36.8

Screenshots of what you are seeing:

Description of problem: When I want to add my new observations to a project, it sometimes says that there are no projects found… it randomly recovers after a while and it finds my joined projects.

Not sure how can I provide steps to replicate the bug as it happens randomly.

Any thoughts? Anyone experiencing this as well?

generate a log file and send it to the iNat staff

What exactly is a log file? (sorry, but I am not really sure)

some instructions here: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/cover-image-of-record-from-my-observations-in-app-shows-photo-from-different-record/8912/5

I don’t see any version number in the Settings… are these instructions available for the Android app as well?

go to “About” instead of “Settings”

Thank you! Now, I select, um, 5 days and that’s it? Now I press ‘Send debug logs’?

if you encountered the error only today, then you only need the last day’s log. depending on how much you’ve used the logs, the files might be little big for e-mail. so i would save them locally to the device. if they’re really big files, i would save them to a cloud share, and then send the iNat folks a link to that cloud share.

I am conducting a research study via traditional project, and at least one of my participants is having the same issue in the android app. Was this ever resolved for you? Doesn’t look like the app has been updated since before this thread. Thanks!

This is a screenshot she sent me from today. Apologies that part of the screen is obscured; we were on a Zoom call.

She just downloaded the app, so it should be up to date. She is able to add the observations to the project by editing them, but is not able to do so when uploading a new observation.

I still happens to me sometimes, and I can’t find the reasons or pattern it happens… hopefully it will be resolved soon.
